  1. Color: Fluorite exhibits a wide range of colors, including purple, green, blue, yellow, pink, and colorless. Often, it forms in multi-colored bands or zones due to impurities present during its formation.

  2. Hardness: Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively soft compared to many other minerals. This softness means it can be scratched easily, especially by harder materials like quartz.

  3. Clarity: Fluorite crystals can range from transparent to translucent. Some specimens are highly transparent and clear, while others may contain visible impurities or inclusions, affecting their clarity.

  4. Luster: The luster of fluorite varies depending on its crystal structure and surface finish. It typically exhibits a vitreous (glassy) luster, but some specimens may display a pearly or waxy luster.

  5. Density: The density of fluorite ranges from approximately 3.0 to 3.3 grams per cubic centimeter, depending on its composition and impurities.

  6. Metaphysical Properties: Fluorite is said to create a protective shield around the aura, guarding against negative energies and psychic manipulation. Fluorite is thought to promote emotional balance and stability, helping to calm chaotic thoughts and emotions. Some believe that fluorite facilitates spiritual growth, intuition, and connection with higher realms.
